Key Interventions

Self-Help Groups
We With the core objective of organizing and assisting women’s communities, we promote and develop Self-Help Groups (SHGs) under Utkarsha project. Women from poor and backward communities are organized into SHGs, which have been supported with financial assistance from various banking institutions. Additionally, we connect these groups with departments, agencies, and mainstream institutions to help them access entitlements and non-financial benefits.
Skill and Capacity Building
Through our grassroots work, we have identified that women in the community have strong aspirations for social and economic development, yet face gaps in the skills and capacity needed to realize these goals. To address this, we organize various skill-building and capacity development events in collaboration with different organizations. We have conducted training sessions on topics such as Entrepreneurship Development Programs (EDP), home industries, catering services, beautician courses, General Duty Assistance, and tailoring. These programs have successfully reached a wide network of women across our working areas.

Santwana and Shakti Sadan Initiatives
To address violence and atrocities faced by women, we run the Santwana program in the Dandeli block, providing legal assistance, temporary shelter, training, and rehabilitation for victims of dowry harassment, domestic violence, and sexual abuse. This program has offered support and a safe space for many women to rebuild their lives. Additionally, we implement the Shakti Sadan program to support distressed women and children in the district, offering shelter and livelihood opportunities to help them transition toward self-reliance and stability.
Women Awareness Programs
We are dedicated to raising awareness among women about various critical issues. Our campaigns focus on menstrual hygiene, breast and cervical cancer awareness, women’s leadership, education, and government entitlement schemes. So far, we have successfully reached a significant number of women through our awareness initiatives.

Menstrual Hygiene
Menstrual hygiene is a crucial issue, particularly for rural women and adolescent girls. We raise awareness by organizing training sessions, meetings, and interactions. To promote healthy menstrual practices, we distribute free sanitary napkins to adolescent girls in government schools. Additionally, we have established a sanitary napkin production unit, providing affordable pads to rural women.
