Strengthening farmers through collective enterprise

At the Krushi Mela held during the Hukkeri Math Jatra Mahotsava in Haveri District, Spurthi Farmers Producer Company proudly showcased its World Bank–supported REWARD Project on chemical-free edible oil production.

Promoted jointly by the Watershed Development Department, Department of Agriculture, and SCODWES, the stall highlighted how locally grown groundnuts are directly procured from farmers and hygienically processed into pure, traceable edible oil ensuring quality, sustainability, and fair returns.

The initiative drew strong interest from farmers, officials, and visitors, reaffirming the power of FPOs in driving value addition, sustainable agriculture, and resilient rural livelihoods.
